Office Painters and Decorators
Redecorating an office in Cornwallis House, Maidstone
Back in 2004, I was asked to put in a price to redecorate this office area in a Maidstone office block. It was quite a large area and something I hadn’t taken on before (apart from when I decorated the new x-ray department at Ashford hospital, I digress).
I don’t have many photos of this particular job as back in 2004, I didn’t really see the point. How stupid was I?
To get this job completed in the timescale required, I purchased a Graco 395 airless spray unit. I flew through the work and this led me to be able to carry out other large paint jobs in quick time.
The walls had existing industrial wallpaper on them (Murapsec wide vinyl), which was in good condition.
The wallpaper was primed with a Zinsser primer and allowed to dry. Then they had two full coats of Crown vinyl matt emulsion applied by airless spray. The colour name escapes me, so please forgive me.
All the woodwork and crittal windows were prepared and painted in Crown Brilliant White gloss by brush.
The “old school” radiators were sprayed with the Graco 395 airless sprayer in the same brilliant white gloss.
Skirtings, floor level trunking and the fire door were brushed in Crown Trade black gloss.
